Hypocrite
Someone is being a hypocrite when the action does not represent The Light that has been perceived by the intellect. The self knows The Light through the intellect but does not walk by The Light.
The desire in the self overwhelms the intellect. The desire to gain wealth, popularity, power and all the ego stuffs that distracts the self from Allah (or covers the self from The Light).
The deed of a hypocrite is intended to merely fulfill the desire, not directed to please Allah. The deed may seem righteous, yet the intention is tainted. When a good deed is aimed to please Allah, the self is being continuously purified.
The purified self is then more enabled to absorb The Light and to taste The Love.
